1. Sandbanks beach – undoubtedly one of the most relaxing and comforting things to do while in Dorset is to soak up as you enjoy the sun and the golden sands of sandbanks beach. This popular ‘Blue Flag’ beach is famous for not only the perfect beach to relax but one that is dotted with the multi-million pound houses of the affluent and the famous of the society. Note that the Sandbanks beach forms part of the 7 mile stretch of beaches from the Sandbanks peninsula going all the way down to the popular Hengistbury Head at Christchurch.
2. Walking along the Purbeck Hills – the Purbeck Hills, which are formed by Cretaceous chalk, will give you the most panoramic view across the English Channel, Poole Harbour, and the Isle of Wight. The Poole Harbour chain ferry will take you to the Old Harry Rocks where you will take your walk along the beautiful seaside town of Swanage. En route you will come across very rare and beautiful species of flowers and birds.

3. Adventure Wonderland – Adventure Wonderland, opposite Bournemouth Airport, is the most popular family adventure park in Dorset. There are over 30 different rides including the Animal Cuddle Corner and the Turbo Teacups that your children will enjoy. Adventure Wonderland is open seven days a week from 25th March to 1st October (10:00 to 18:00 with last entry 16:00).

4. Swanage Railway – you want to learn more about the Dorset’s Heritage? Take a trip to the Swanage railway where you have another breathtaking journey through 6 miles of beautiful Dorset panorama, including the ruins of the famous Corfe castle. The railway will give you access to historic Dorset villages, the Jurassic Coast and the Swanage seaside resort.

5. Spot wildlife on the Brownsea Island – the Brownsea Island happens to be the best spot for seeing and spotting wildlife in the whole of Dorset. Here you will see crowds of birds, a huge population of red squirrels, and beautiful deer. Note that this Island is part and parcel of the National Trust organization. On your way to the island, you should take a ferry across, an experience like no other as you get to explore and enjoy one of the most amazing panoramic views of the Poole Harbour and its surroundings, the Purbeck Hills etc.
