Paris, a city which makes you dream of love and romance, a city which embodies art and culture, where fashion seems to be at its best and where wine and food is the finest. It seems to be the first choice among travelers worldwide, and why not. Beautiful and elegant, she stands supreme among the capitals of Europe.
Travelling to Paris from England earlier involved only two modes, either by crossing the Channel by boat or by taking a flight across to Paris. Both were easy, and a Channel crossing always seemed to have sense of adventure to it. Even though it was just a short trip, it brought with it a sense of history, of Armada’s and the great landing during World War II.
Nowdays the best and the fastest way is to get the Eurostar to Paris. From St Pancras station in London to Folkestone station in Kent, to Coquelles, Pas De Calais in northern France and then on to the station in Paris it takes only 2 hours and fifteen minutes. The time passes quickly, and somehow you tend to forget that you are sometimes 250 feet under the English Channel. Cheap Eurostar tickets mean that not only is the journey fast, but affordable too.
There are not too many processes involved, unless you are a national of a country which requires a visa to travel to France. Please confirm this before you purchase your tickets, or you are likely denied permission to travel.
Paris has so much to see and do. The standard tourist attractions are always there – Versailles , the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and of course the Moulin Rouge. But to really enjoy Paris you need to walk along the Seine, especially at dusk when the city is at its most beautiful.
If you are looking for good inexpensive food, then have a meal at the lovely cafes on the roadside. Language maybe a problem, but sign language usually works!
